But, the desire for a “people first” culture pervades the concerns of current and prospective employees: Transparent management, feeling valued as a team member, working with smart colleagues, and providing employees with challenging work all help employees feel that the company they work for is worthwhile.

Gallup estimates that just 33 percent of employed Americans are engaged at work. Engagement is subjective and determined on an individual basis.
